About the role:

For our highly motivated and dedicated Finance & Accounting team, we are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant (m/f/d) as soon as possible. In this position, you will support the smooth running of all financial/ accounting processes of the department and report directly to the Head of Accounting.

Your responsibilities:

*You will be responsible for our recently acquired Canadian subsidiary’s (based in Montreal) daily and monthly financial/ accounting activities and fiscal record-keeping according to monthly and yearly close schedules together with the Head of Accounting

*You will process and monitor various financial and accounting processes to ensure they are recorded appropriately in our books on a monthly and yearly basis

*You proactively assist in optimizing our in-department processes with focus e.g. on revenue and accounts receivable

*You will assist in controlling, the analysis and annotation of financial statements (monthly and on annual basis), accompany financial and tax audits as well as supporting the local tax advisers and Revenue Agency’s inquiries.

*You will contribute within the team by continuously optimizing current accounting processes and procedures in order to adapt to a fast-changing environment always ensuring high-quality results

*You will support internal departments – especially Sales, Customer Operations and Strategic Partnerships will be in direct contact with you regarding accounting-related customer and partner requests

*You work closely with our BI teams in Berlin and Amsterdam to provide data and analysis to facilitate business decisions and evaluations (ad hoc analysis, accounting)

Your profile:

*You have relevant professional experience as an accountant or in a comparable position, additionally a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance

*The handling of the entire accounting cycle has gone into your DNA and you could already gain experience with widely-used accounting software (Quickbooks, Sage Intacct, FinancialForce, Netsuite, etc.)

*You have advanced knowledge of accounting standards knowledge and experience with international accounting standards e.g. IFRS

*You are a self-starter – the ability to act and operate independently to accomplish objectives, you know when to ask and when to decide, you own processes and tasks and always bring things to an end

*In addition to the urge to shape you are extremely proactive and also have very good communication skills in English and French

*You are detail-oriented and organized in work

*Furthermore, you are keen to meet assigned deadlines and always try to overachieve by constantly designing process optimization for discussion with the Head of Accounting

*You have a strong understanding of accounting theory and motivation to shape accounting philosophy

*Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies as well as with customers and partners to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving, and results
