What you’ll do:

*Plan, develop and maintain features for our services from scratch

*Build services that are end user facing, power automation or internal tools

*Maintain and optimise existing services for performance and stability

*Be part of an agile, cross-functional and experienced team, consisting of backend, frontend and QA engineers, product owners and designers

*Find and resolve issues in close communication with our product, data and support teams.

Requirements

*3+ years experience as a software engineer

*Fluency in Scala or Java and experience in PHP – a considerable part of our stack is based on Scala

*Solid software engineering & design pattern skills in a micro service environment

*Passion for writing clean code, with an appetite for taking on complex architectural challenges

*Curiosity to learn about, and try out, new technologies

*Strong communicator with the ability to explain complex problem sets

*A great teammate, who motivates fellow colleagues to improve each day

*Capable of writing tests for your code as part of the standard operating procedure

*Understanding of the importance of good, resilient design and architecture documentation

*The right to live and work in Germany/EU.

*Asynchronous processing via message brokers like RabbitMQ & Kafka

*AWS

*High traffic environments & scaling distributed systems

*Ansible, Chef, Docker, Kubernetes and/or other automation and orchestration tools.
