We are seeking an Accountant to join our finance team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will oversee EDU’s financial accounts, reporting, and budgeting activities. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated background in accounting (a minimum of two years in a similar role) with experience in preparing financial statements and managing budgets.

As an Accountant at EDU, your main responsibilities will be:

– Assisting our Group’s CFO by transferring and managing business transactions into accurate accounting data promptly.
– Aiding internal departments by maintaining updated open item lists for creditors and debtors.
– Liaising and coordinating with external accountants and tax offices.
– Participating in the preparation of annual financial statements and supporting their audit processes for the Group and its individual companies.
– Managing tax provisions, returns, and reports in the Group and its individual companies.
– Issuing and managing outgoing invoices & credit notes.
– Collaborating with various teams including educators, administrative staff, and other departments to guarantee smooth program operations and the achievement of desired outcomes.

Job Requirements
As an Accountant at EDU, the following education, skills, and experiences are required or advantageous:
– A Bachelor’s degree in business studies with a focus on finance or vocational training in a commercial profession.
– At least a year of demonstrated experience in a similar role.
– Proficiency in supporting and preparing the creation of annual financial statements.
– Prior experience with preparation and submission of tax reports and declarations to authorities.
– Familiarity with Odoo Finance or equivalent accounting programs.
– Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
– Knowledge of group consolidation and IFRS – considered a plus.
– Experience in auditing processes of annual financial reports – considered a plus.
– Fluency in English and German.
