Your Tasks

As DevOps engineer you are responsible for the development and maintenance of the companies systems and applications. You will do this in scrum teams together with other stakeholders from the business. Apart from the input that you receive from within the business, you will also perform analysis and competency research. Utilizing your creativity and experience you will design a solution that you can pitch in a refinement session to the stakeholders. If approved, you will develop, execute, configure, test, implement, maintain, optimize, incident management and information integrity – basically the whole deal in this dynamic function.

Your Daily Routine

Except for the ‘Daily Stand-up’ routine, no day as DevOps Engineer is the same. We are a relatively small company, which means you will have a broad function and will be working on many different applications simultaneously. A random work day could like as follows. You start your day in our recently renewed office with a cup of coffee and check in on Jira on any backlog items from the current sprint. Before the daily scrum begins, you already prepared a few questions and solved some issues. We are currently working hard on our smart tradingplatform for electricity and nwarmth. That’s why you will work out a User Story to make Graphs and Charts available in the client portal. After you checked in on some items with the end users and testers it’s already lunch time.

You quickly snatch a yummy sandwich in the cafeteria, after which you and a colleague go outside for a walk. After the break, you search for a quiet flex desk where you focus on the development of a new screen in the companyresourcessystem. A colleague ran into an issue and sends you a message on Skype. With a quick analysis in the system you quickly found the issue. After continuing with your development tasks, it’s time for an interactive demo via Microsoft Teams. The sprint is finalized and you can present the finalized application to the management team and the business. The app is well received and after answering a few user questions, the day is done.

Who are you?

You possess a Bachelors degree and have vast experience with PL/SQL and Oracle Databases. Also Apex webdevelopment is known territory for you. Broader experience, for example with webservices based on Node.js and Javascript is a plus. You are good at independently working, but you also find the right way in collaboration with the business to continuously improve. Collaboration and contact with different stakeholders both inside and outside of the business appeals to you. Especially when done in an agile-manner.

Apart from that, you like to be kept in the loop of changes in your area of expertise and love to contribute to a more green energy based world. Not only is the industry continuously changing, we also are always developing and improving.

We are Looking for:

To summarize we are looking for the following in you:

· Bachelor degree in an ICT based study

· Knowledge and experience with structured problem analysis and solutions | at least 5 years experience with application based development and programming

· Minimum of 5 years experience with PL/SQL and familiar with Apex web development | Experience working in project- and/or scrumteams

· Experience in the energy industry and with Javascript and Node.js is a plus | you are naturally a curious person and are always looking to keep improving yourself. Your knowledge and know-how is something you love to share within the team
